On a humid central city afternoon, a St. John ambulance was seen ambling past a woman lying injured on the side of the road. The ambulance didn’t stop. For about 1 hour, she lay injured on the street with her feet partially hanging over the gutter, until ambulance staff arrived on the scene and staff tended to her.

St. John media did not take the NZR’s phone call [at the scene] with the operator asking The NZR to send an email. …That night The NZR wrote to St John’s media wing. At about 1:30pm this afternoon, External Communications Manager Gerard Campbell responded -

“Hi, Peter.

Thanks for the email.

We’ll look into this on Monday for you.

Have a good rest of the weekend.”

Yesterday at about 2:50pm, a woman tripped and fell, injuring herself on Hereford Street, opposite the BNZ Centre.  

From inside a Robert Harris cafe The NZR saw a St. John's ambulance slowly drive by the injured woman without stopping. The ambulance proceeded towards the intersection of Colombo Street and Hereford St.
