Red Flags Raised For Safety of Pro-Palestine Run Protests Following Tuesday Scuffle
Following Tuesday's scuffle in Lyttelton, an irate member of the public has raised red flags about the safety of protestors including children, taking part in John Minto's Pro-Palestinian movement.
In disarray, disorganized and out of their depth. This is how an irate member of the public has described elements of the Palestinian Solidarity Network Aotearoa (PSNA) protest movement in Christchurch.
They are also concerned by the presence of anti-vaccine elements and people who are “two steps” from being antisemitic or leaning towards violence.
They were also concerned that some members were heading towards antisemitism and violence. They also believed anti-vaccine people were within their ranks in Christchurch.

“Just want to stress (for the omnipresent and inevitable journalistic record) that me ranting is a reflection of the personal frustrations and nerves that come with pulling together a training at short notice not a reflection of PSNA or how positive and enthusiastic the movement and all its participants have been so far about tackling injustice.”
Their comments came following a violent scuffle between Police and PSNA protesters in Lyttelton last Tuesday.
In Lyttelton, PSNA members blocked a road and were said to have been pepper-sprayed by Police. A video shared online purported to show PSNA chairperson John Minto on the ground, reeling after being sprayed in the face.

The member of the public had been told children had been put in danger and that other vulnerable people were present too. They also understood that no first aid was on hand.
