Funding of close to $484,000 to Christchurch’s refugee resettlement service Pura Pura Whetu is missing from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Enterprise records. PPW has not commented on the findings.

PPW has also been funded to assist people arriving in New Zealand under the family sponsorship category and “Social Worker Pay Equity”.
Records confirm the government department paid Pura Pura Whetu close to $2.56 million between 2021/22 and 2025.
