Council CE Richardson Defends Council Security in Riccarton
Ep 5: In this series on the homeless, Mary Richardson, the Christchurch Council Chief Executive defends the council's security efforts in Riccarton.
Chief Executive Mary Richardson has roundly defended the council’s efforts to improve safety in and around the Riccarton Bus Exchange.
This response has come as local business owners spoke of concern for the safety of workers, customers and teenage girls despite security having been beefed-up in Riccarton.
The NZR wrote to Mayor Phil Mauger regarding several safety concerns regarding downtown Riccarton. He has yet to respond.
The NZR will seek a response from him at Mauger next mayoral forum.
