Close to 40 Charged in Connection to Restore Passenger Rail Movement; Some Could Face Up to 14 Years Jail
The Wigram talks to lawyer Seth John Fraser about the charges and the Police's decision to prosecute Restore Passenger Rail members under the Crimes Act.
The facts are sobering and devastating.
Rosemary Penwarden, Alex Cockle and Jen Olsen were arrested by Police and placed in custody for their part in the ongoing Restore Passenger Rail saga.

Penwarden has been released from jail. Cockle’s detention is ongoing. And Olsen’s remand will end tomorrow.
But the trio were not the only ones taken in by Police and charged.
Close to 40 people have been arrested for their activities in Wellington; four to 5 are subject to electronic monitoring; and, as a group, they face around 100 charges all told.
The prospect of a trial in 2024 hangs over them all. But so does the prospect of jail time for the climate activists.
