Begging allowed by security at Westfield Mall in return for "intelligence", says security team member
A Westfield Mall security team member has told The Wigram that security has an agreement with a group that begs on mall premises that in return for providing “intelligence”, they will not move the group on.
The security member said they knew all of the group members and that two of them lived near the mall. The group works as a team and begs from the path between Matipo Street and the Pak n Save rear-exit and potentially three other spots: the Maxwell Street entrance, the Matipo Street entrance near McDonalds, and a fourth locale.
